The Windsor Community Orchestra performed to a live audience for the first time in 2 years at our Spring concert. The audience was small, but added an atmosphere that the orchestra really appreciated. We also recognise that some people are still not comfortable or able to meet in large groups, so we included a Zoom link so people could attend virtually, which 24 people did.
The orchestra played a wide selection of pieces from classical to modern. We swung with a few jazzy numbers and energised the concert with Borodin's Polovtsian Dances. We also had some solo performance, including a brassy quartet, a small string ensemble and a clarinet solo.
As always, our concerts are free but we do collect money for charity. This term, we wanted to support the humanitarian effort in Ukraine, and over £500 was raised for this cause.
